Google’s first attempt with social media was Google+, landing over 10 million users less than a month and over 90 million users as of now. According to Slate, Google+ couldn’t compete with the 500+ million users on Facebook.
Google is now taking its next steps in social media with Leaderboard. Leaderboard is a new feature allowing users to earn points for checking in to locations via Google Latitude.

When I was told that we had a client with a controversial message requesting our advertising expertise, I was very intrigued. Thanks to the orchestrated efforts of Power Creative Senior Vice President, Tim Lucas, a good time was had by all at Slugger Field on Monday night. The Louisville Bats “Social Media Night” (4/18/11) invited Facebook and Twitter users to interact and vote on details such as one dollar concession stand item as well as lower ticket prices for every “like” they received up until the game.
